If you’re annoyed by Harris‘s outreach to Republicans, your feelings are valid. But please bear in mind that she’s not just speaking to voters. She’s reassuring Republican election officials who will need to withstand pressure to sabotage a free and fair election for democracy to survive.

That makes a depressing amount of sense We are in some dark times

In those dark night of the soul moments where ten or twelve people in different swing counties have to choose between overwhelming pressure from a charismatic (to them) fascist and the Democratic process, it might be “well, if Cheney says she’s okay” that saves the republic.

Yeah, I get that she has to do this, but it also sucks that she has to do this.

She is running to be president of all Americans, not just Democrats. Making her coalition as broad as possible is the right way. /s/ a former Republican, now independent, Harris voter.

At the end of this, she will be president of all Americans, not just the ones who already support her. That she is demonstrating her willingness and capability to do that now is laudable. She will be an excellent head of state.

I have never voted for a single politician with whom I agreed on everything. I doubt anyone has. We vote for the candidate we believe to be the more qualified, less self-serving, and better human.

I'm not overly annoyed as I understand she's trying to win the election. But I also don't necessarily think you are the Harris whisperer and know in this detail her intention beyond that.

A good point that I thought got raised was "Who else is in the room?" There may be a lot of "apolitical wives" who mainly vote the way of their husbands who watch that interview and see a smart woman being cut off by a dumb asshole and realize the image they've been sold of Harris is a lie...
