Plan was (is?) to grade final essays today. I haven’t started. Instead, I have closed my mother’s remaining bank account, been told I’m “failing as a parent” by my teenager, and braved the lines at World Market to buy same teenager a chocolate advent calendar. Merry December.

While attempting banana bread last night (when rotted fruit —> breakfast), I realize we are out of chocolate chips. I repeat NO CHOCOLATE CHIPS. No, I can’t run to the store because banana bread is baked at midnight. Was saved by finely chopped Halloween candy. 🎃 🍫 🍌🍞The universe has my back.
