The only scene in her entire arc that even gave me a *hint* of why he would tell her his name was... the intimacy of when she told it to him. The rest of it? Harry-Potter level whimsy for whimsy sake. Surprise she didn't invoke similiar naming conventions like, "The Graviwuptus box!" for Tardis
