People are always surprised when I tell them Wisconsin is where the Progressive party was born, and Milwaukee was run by Socialists until 1960.
THIS IS SO TRUE & HORRIBLY HILARIOUS 😂 I mean, farmers are often the first to beta-test apps and new equipment! Engineers love farmers, and plenty of them have tech in their background. Farmers were never the hokey pastoral paintings...
The pig in the first panel 😍😍😍
welp, nothing for it, gonna just have to talk to twelve county-level republican operatives and then conspicuously fail to mention that in my piece
Speaking as someone born in Nebraska and raised (well, mostly) in Missouri, THANK YOU.
Thank you! I grew up in the Midwest and have been shocked by the pretentious "East Coast" silverspoon in mouth reporters... They've been treating everyone like they're in a foreign country and like they've never been west of Pennsylvania.
something something appalacian hillbilly
Love this! Sharing it with my red state rural county Democratic party. They'll get a kick out of it. One irony about this: in my corner of this red state, local papers do sometimes write puff pieces about local progressives. NYT ignores them but the local pages give their support.
