r/tampa 8 hr. ago Strict_Force2596 Parents refuse to evacuate Join • • • Hello, I (17m) live in wimauma and am not in the mandatory evacuation zone. My parents are not taking the storm seriously, my stepfather said we do not need to do anything to prepare for the storm, we have a limited hurricane supply kit but otherwise have no resources. We are going to sleep downstairs and use a generator but the door downstairs is a sliding glass door. After the hurricane reached a cat 5, my stepfather told us to evacuate and he will stay with the house and our pets. I and Both of their families are telling my mother to evacuate but she refuses saying that the storm will not be bad. They are also trump supporters which may seem irrelevant but they say that the democrats are targeting red counties with storms .
