You've done more with Y-DNA testing than most people have! The next FTDNA sale will be in November so that can be a good time to upgrade. I'd be curious to know the terminal haplogroup for the Big Y tester. Have you learned more about the ancient history of the line?
That's great! My main tree is on Ancestry, which has its pros and cons. I am thinking of making more general genealogy content for a wider audience. There isn't nearly enough educational material out there about Y-DNA testing so I'm thinking of starting with that.
Thanks for alerting me to this! I was able to get the subscription even though I am a current Pro Tools subscriber! Pro Tools is great, but I'm still encountering some bugs. I would LOVE Ancestry to introduce a chromosome browser, but sadly that doesn't seem to be in the works anytime soon.
What are you currently working on with your genealogy research? And how do you share your findings with others? I'd love to hear from you!
The second presentation may of wider interest. It is a Y-DNA presentation looking at the ancient roots of the Lehmann paternal line. I also utilize Y-DNA testing to help prove out distant family relationships. I find Y-DNA to be really fascinating! Check out the video here: youtu.be/n4ACKXgO6as

The first presentation discusses my Lehmann family roots from a small town in Hesse called Weiterstadt. Incredibly, the archivist of this town had written a 40 page genealogy report on my family. The earliest records of my family go back to 1780. Check out the video here: youtu.be/f8MgIF_UxlA

I'm excited to share that I've posted two new genealogy presentations to my YouTube channel over the past couple weeks, both related to my Lehmann family (my direct paternal line). I find that recording my presentations is a great way to share my findings with others. #genealogy
There were so many highlights at the conference. But getting a "sneak peak" at my newly refined Y-DNA haplogroup from the phylogenetic expert at FTDNA is an experience I will never forget! After 4+ years I have officially proven my Y-DNA lineage and have found a cousin (4C1R) with a TMRCA of 1791!
This week I attended my first IAJGS conference in Philadelphia. The conference was incredible! I learned so much from the sessions, but the socializing with other genealogists was arguably more valuable! I feel like I found "my people" at this conference. #IAJGS#Genealogy
