Being "cutting edge", "breaking boundaries" has always -- long as I can remember, been viewed as goals in comedy. Whenever I see comedians talk about their heroes those phrases come up. Talk about Carlin or Pryor key in on that. Misses the point. Carlin and Pryor were funny.
