The idea that a teacher would even HAVE the free time within 24 hours to MAKE this call really shows how little these people understand about even the most basic aspects of the job.

This isn't even about preventing social transition without parental input, this is about creating a surveillance state for trans youth and gender nonconformity.

That’s crap. Now trans kids can’t go to school? I would like to argue that for a couple of years, we were encouraging kids so there has to be some state liability there. And this law stinks period!

Forcing counselors to report this violates the ethical standards (& in some states, laws) regulating the mental health professions-LCSW, LMFT, LPC, etc. I’m an LCSW & I can’t imagine betraying my patient’s trust in that way; every school counselor should walk off the job if this passes.
