We learned with genuine sadness of the passing of famed singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson. Cesar Chavez went backstage in the 1970s to thank Kris when he headlined fundraising concerts for the UFW. They maintained a lifelong friendship, and Kris stayed active in our movement.

I bought new pipettes for things that I want high accuracy/precision and have a bunch of hand me downs for less sensitive things (e.g., extractions). Every year a contractor comes to the university and does pipette calibration for cheap because they do like a million pipettes in a week here.
