Had a wonderful in person TWS writing sprint session then found my hotdog guy (Moā€™s) at Robson Square. If you order veggie dogs you get two! @emath.bsky.social, I think I beat you to the hot dog stand today.

Out Too Late in the Windrift
A sentence is easily composed.
It's like this path of rocks
that may or may not lead to safety.
How do I even know you're reading these rocks that I found in the forest?
It may be that you are
the one who rearranged them when I was crying in my room for several months.
A long time ago,
she and I built a ceremony on a stage of sticks and moss with a pile of rocks in the middle of nowhere. You'd be lost to find it.
One day, the chronology of she and I broke down
and someone used the rocks
to build a path that leads
out of the stage.

Between two trees is a door.
Someone is reading
the sign warning what to do in case of a coyote encounter: make yourself big and shout.
I've once again wandered off.
Tears stretch the sun to a plastered point.
When a form lopes from the underbrush,
I think, "Oh a cute dog, someone is nearby."
Then, I realize it's time to shout, which feels like something I've been training for.

I think thatā€™s the one that has been haunting me since September. The grill marks, the perfect amount of grease, the double veggie dogs in the one, perfectly toasted bun, the pickled peppers.
