Reminder: I see folks say “the strike ended”. SAG-AFTRA is still striking. WGA writers still need financial support for the over 100 days they were unable to work for their primary form of income. Also, numerous other industries are striking (hotel workers) and more should (animation).

Yuppers, WGA's strike ended, that was all - and in that time more strikes kicked in. Good on all of them.

I think it's fair to say that "the strike ended" in the particular context of the WGA writer's strike being the first and currently longest strike of this year. But while the strike (for the WGA) is over. The pro-labour & union movement is still in full swing.

Striking (as the SAG and WGA did) is essential. For the health of every worker in the industry. Only when people unite the will have power against arbitrariness of bigger companies. Being open minded towards technological advances (AI) also.

I heard things about the gaming industry too but I'm not sure. Either way an announcement came where the CEOs walked away from the negotiations and counter-proposed them their worse deal yet. (4/6)

By coincidence, my lore-order Trekwatch got to "Bar Association" a couple days ago. 😁

Everyday for me is letting someone I know in on the fact that, no, there still isn't really work even though my union has not been on strike and that, yes, I unequivocally supported the WGA and am totally supporting SAG-AFTRA. It takes as long as it takes.

I think people are just confused, especially people who don't know as much. It's a misconception that because the writer's strike is over, it's all over, because why wouldn't it be? This does need to be stated though. Honestly, I thought the WGA strike would go on longer.
