Something that I have been worried about. The environmental humanities is not meant to save the humanities (some think this), it is to save the environment. If we can’t see that, the humanities don’t deserve to be saved.

It’s interesting, chemical companies were charting the same expansion much early (40s/50s). Wondering if this had to do with the 1970s energy “crisis,” surely?
