I hope you are right (not about HS2) although I don’t seem to have seen the same commitments being made in public that you have.

None of us know things for certain because _we haven't seen the budget yet_. But "party who's top mission is growth who's chancellor has published trashing neoliberalism & austerity actually does austerity" does seem unlikely.
