also not to sound like a "WE DRANK FROM THE HOSE" boomer but i feel like parents are expected to constantly monitor/participate in events w/kids today in a way that they didn't when i was a kid?

i think my upper-middle class white parents of an elder millennial might disagree, but i would believe it's gotten worse

this is probably also related to sprawl making kids literally unable to leave their residential subdivision without parental help
