Aside from Hox's and Raudenbush's HLM books, is there one you felt was very intuitive to grasp key concepts? Brushing up on the theory and would welcome advice...#stats

In terms of intuition, here is a quick overview of what worked for me in terms of making sense of these models. First, understanding the key distinction between a “random grouping factor” and a “random effect”. That alone cleared up so many misunderstandings.
