Gatekeeping based on how much theory you know is no different than gatekeeping based on whether you're bourgeoisie or proletariat. Remember that access to education is a class-based thing in the states. Solidarity takes precedence over all.
But knowing that makes each trash mob fight feel more intricate, as you couldn't simply blow all your powerful spells to wipe everything out. You'd take risks mixing weak melee attacks with your board-clearing spells to prevent overkilling (and thus wasting) your mp. Love this challenge a lot.
MP is always a premium in the Persona games, but if you really wanted to finish a full dungeon in a single run, you could. This is significantly harder to pull off in Metaphor, and I was forced to backtrack around 3 to 4 times before finally completing the dungeon.
My first dungeon in Metaphor was significantly more challenging than P5's 1st. MP is a precious resource, as you weigh the options of continuing for 1 more floor, or head back to replenish. I actually loved this limitation, as it made the classes more compelling.
