The current tech of LLMs and the like never will. Despite the hype and fancy math, it’s just a glorified “what comes next” machine. Something entirely different will be required to actually do what the tech bros are claiming. And I don’t think most people even want it.

As far as I’m concerned “AI” is a complete misnomer for the current shit and nothing about it at all suggests we’re closing in on actual GeneralAI.
