It isn't Tories one should compare with, it's Norwegians, Danes, Swedes and Finns — or Spaniards, Italians and the Greeks. Unfortunately, a chance was missed with the spendings scandal. Labour pays for that now.

in addition to the reputational loss for lots of governments — domestically and internationally. It's a criminal degree of unnecessary reputational loss for nations and parties who purportedly are opposing all what Russia and Israel do to their neighbors.

After May's Lancaster House speech, when ambiguity on FoM was lost, Labour voted, with few exceptions, for authorizing Theresa May's government giving the Art.50 notice. And the electorate gave the MPs who'd supported the authorization a huge majority. SNP, LibDems and Labour rebels were punished.
