If you're having trouble getting into the habit (which I did!), go into Settings, then Accessibility. You can toggle so that the app will prevent you from posting an image without alt.

I rely on this setting to remember to do it.

Thank you for posting this. I had found out about it when someone posted you could do this and it has changed everything for me. I love being inclusive for folks where I can.
