Great to catch up with Red-breasted Flycatcher at Culverwell this morning, a wonderfully showy and vocal bird!
Dawn at the Swannery saw 73 Cattle Egret leave the roost, at least 5 Firecrest on site today, single Yellow-browed Warbler, Hobby and a good number of duck @swannerysteve.bsky.social
Despite being far more vocal today, the Yellow-browed Warblers were no easy to see let alone photograph! I had a suspicion there may have been 3 but I couldn't be sure, 3+ Firecrests, at least 50 Chiffchaffs and an unseen flock of Beaded Tit made for an excellent day @swannerysteve.bsky.social
This Mallow was the pick of the bunch this week!! So few moths on the nights I've been trapping, since Monday: 3 Small Mottled Willow (tues), 9 Radford's (every night, 4 last), Dark Sword Grass and a few Rush Veneer
Ringtail Harrier in off the sea NE at the Swannery, flew up Chesters Hill and lost (while running for my camera!) Orange and small but that's all I could really note @swannerysteve.bsky.social
Honey Buzzard mobbed by Peregrine before flying purposefully down the fleet @swannerysteve.bsky.social
Good to have a catch up this morning Julian!
Viewing from Weymouth side of the Harbour it never emerged from the murk!
Common Swift over the Swannery grounds this evening - my latest ever by 3 days @swannerysteve.bsky.social
Further searching from the road below where it had been drew a blank @swannerysteve.bsky.social
