One of my favourite parts of the Ramses exhibition was the Uraeus. It belonged to the 12th dynasty king Senusret II (1897-1878BC). AncientBluesky

The ureus represented the goddess Wadjet who protected the king with her venomous bite. These protective services was one of the reasons it is thought that Cleopatra VII chose to use a Cobra to end her life (although this remains debated). AncientBluesky
