Me 1 hour ago: I wonā€™t comment on the VIA/Liberal HFR project until more details come out. Me now: Nawww. Iā€™m going to spend the next few weeks absolutely tearing apart every failed aspect of it.

I've found one! A classic K67 kiosk is still serving as a mini store for a local bakery. Agfa Optima 1035 Sensor / Kodak ColorPlus #believeinfilm#filmphotography

One of the things I like about Bluesky is that itā€™s elevating much different voices than Twitter did (even in itā€™s so called ā€œgoodā€ era). Im really seeing this in the housing/urbanist/transit space where a lot of old/tired voices and ideas are just falling flat instead of gaining traction by default

You can expect a lot more photos like this of historic homes in Kingston, especially limestone buildings and row houses, in the coming days (along with a lot of other good and not so good buildings in the city)

Part 1 of Kingston: A City trying to figure shit out, is going to look at bike infrastructure. I would say that 90% of its bike infrastructure has come in the past 5 years. And what you see below is the most common, basically a metre wide shoulder next to the curb with some paint.

western start of Cataraqui Woods Drive, a residential semi-arterial street. The street has painted bike shoulders on both sides, which is the most common bike lane type in Kingston. In this case traffic typically tops out at 50kph so itā€™s not the worst.

There is also a concrete sidewalk on one side and multi-use path on the other. In the future a fully separated, AAA, bike lane could be built to replace the bike shoulders

Noticed a lot of oak tree saplings on the edge of the road during my daily walk. So Iā€™m starting the day by looking for the healthiest ones and marking them. In 2 or 3 weeks I should be able to dig them up and replant them. Fingers crossed they donā€™t bring out the big lawnmower between now and then
