I kind of get what you are saying. He wrote ‘the’ book and has spent 20 years doing interviews and articles and bashing the point home non-stop. On the other hand it was only effective because he wrote a massive book that probably took 5+ years to research & write and could back up ever tiny point

Even books-to-policy is rare. Since the 60s you only really have Death & Life, The Power Broker, The Next American Metropolis, The High Cost of Free Parking and maybe Human Transit that fit that bill I could be wrong, but Im not even sure if there are any posting-to-policy examples for urban issues
