Not looking to stan for sports betting--I'm sure it's going to be a big net social harm, like pretty much all gambling is. But I can't not point out baserate issues whenever I see them in the wild. Baserates and survivorship-biased claims. Almost reflexive responses.

Don't disagree with the baserate fallacy point generally, but my back of the envelope math is coming out differently: 447,458 non-business BK filings for 12mo ending 3/31. Divided by 127 million US households is getting me to 0.35% annual BK rate

Good point. Would be better if they'd focus on the absolute lack of benefit to society.
