One of the more frustrating progressive over-compensations online has been the whole “speed cameras are ACAB too!” dialog. It’s true the PLACEMENT of cameras can be bad (like how Chicago clustered them sorta-only in Black nbhds), but cameras themselves? Clearly good!

There’s a brand of overly-online progressive that’s lost the thread and somehow equates ANY form of accountability with “the carceral state.” Which … no. Ppl do terrible things all the time. The question is what role should the guys w guns play, not “should there be consequences.”
And when cops stop doing that, it’s usually because they’re mad and just decide to not enforce speed limits at all.
