Silicon anodes (+ possibly LMFP cathodes) in a race with solid state to be the next dominant EV battery, a race that we all win.
🔌💡Prologium has launched a new lithium ceramic battery with 100% silicon anode, that can charge up to 80% in 8.5 minutes. It has an energy density of 320-350 Wh/kg. They are partnering with FEV to being this new battery to EVs. #EVs #battchat interestingengineeri...
Test data from TÜV Rheinland shows the battery can charge from 5 percent to 60 percent in five minutes and reach 80 percent in 8.5 minutes.
That's the great thing about increasing the EV market, it's more money than can be poured into R&D.
And if I'm not mistaken, the silicon from recycled PV is perfectly suitable for the job! N type only would be ideal, but a mixture is still conductive enough.
