Sorry, hard disagree! Look how rare it is for people to double up in the 100 m and 200 m (Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis, Noah Lyles), or 200 m and 400 m (Michael Johnson). In swimming, the reason Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky are the GOATs is that they do it over multiple distances and strokes.

Not all of GSMNP was logged. There are sections of cove forest that were apparently never logged, and NPS data suggest anywhere from 20 - 35 % was not logged, based on elevation, steepness.... There was human disturbance, sure.
