that sample is from Jocelyn Brown’s 1985 Love’s Gonna Get You, lines from which Angie sings in I’m Gonna Get You
oops, pasted the back-end link but it redirects
i picked a different 90s R&B girl group song, but it was never a question that one would have to make the list. what an era! v. underappreciated in retrospect
TODAY: our own Carrie Frye on the devastation wrought on Asheville, and specifically the incomparable Root Bar, which featured a sport played nowhere else in the world. flaminghydra.com/r/025a8f0e?m...

i revisited some of my #let5d0it#uncooltwo50. the ronettes piece must have confused my memory. no wonder i haven't been able to work ahead as far.
the fun part about this is that in my prep document i had already gone ahead and put in all the songwriting/production/label/chart notations. i'm updating them, but if i miss something there will be a very funny morning where I claim that (fake examples) Shock G contributed to "Stay (I Missed You)"
i know arron frowns on it because my list is ranked, but i swapped out 13 songs on my uncooltwo50 list last night and i feel so much better about it as a representation of my actual favorites. might even swap out more today. but the top five remain sacrosanct.
