This week I learned that the digital organ in one of our local churches doesn’t generate the notes electronically but plays recordings made from a real proper pipe organ. So it’s basically a mellotron.

Also means that someone sat at the original organ and played the same bloody chromatic scale over and over again for each different stop, before chopping it all up and feeding it into the music engine.

I think physical modelling would be better; much more flexible.
