It does feel a little weird for Astro to be a celebration of PlayStation's legacy when Sony quite recently fired most of the talent behind those games It does feel a bit like puppeting a corpses but Asobi clearly actually care about the corpses
saw an article that described it as often feeling like less of a celebration and more like a graveyard and ... yeah, bit hard to argue otherwise imo
Isn't the game basically just a graveyard for all their old ips
I thought Asobi was dissolved? How are they developing this?
That combined with Sony’s comment about “not having enough IPs” makes me question things more than I already am.
Last Dance with Mary Jane One more time to kill the pain
ALT: a man and a woman are dancing in a room filled with candles .
I also agree with @arlostuff.bsky.social about Sony execw seemingly not caring a whole lot about the game in comparison to Concord.
It's a weird position to be in. I want the game to succeed, simply to send the message that AAA cinematic games isn't all PlayStation players care about. At the same time, how Sony treated all their smaller, experimental devs does leave a bad taste in my mouth when playing it.
A bit like Epic Mickey without the very clear message that you're looking at corpses
Sly Cooper : (
I like to think of it as Asobi trying to make a plea to Sony that these IP are worth investing in still. I hope Astro Bot does well. It will say something if Sony's most successful game this generation is a 3D platformer and not some cinematic third-person action game.
