Becky Francis was writing about that about 20 years ago. Also found it impacted on girls, as boys dominated discussion. Additionally found they were the ones dominating the teachers' attention, to the detriment of everyone else.

I think it's true of most expert advisory groups etc. I used to go to meetings of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Teaching Profession as was, to my bemusement, often the classroom practitioner there. Lots of MAT leads, researchers, advocates from interest groups and a few politicians.

Thanks for sharing that. Our doctoral research interests seem very similar. I have had a paper peer reviewed for Impact (CCT) on teacher agency and evidence-informed practice. Not sure if it will be online or in print. Would be interested to know what you think if it gets published.
We used to call it GCSE Philosophy and Ethics, but we changed it after the curriculum reforms as it sounded a little disingenuous! Suddenly there was a lot more religion!
