yes. Multiple times. Trips like that provide me the chance to break routine and take things I hadn't thought of into consideration for stories. I also people watch and come up with ideas for characters' backgrounds. And- helps to look at different architecture. (sorry to not be too specific.)
First thing that came to mind is "The Hard Tomorrow" by Eleanor Davis. Ehm... not sure if it counts. How about "The Book Tour" ? by Andi Watson.
