I do think it's funny when people are like "we must reject the bipartisan consensus on free trade with China" in 2024—the bipartisan consensus has been anti-free-trade-with-China for 8, ~10 years now? At what point are you the consensus?

probably the one thing Vance and Walz agreed on most during the debate was "less free trade with China", their disagreements were on what goods we should care about and what mechanisms we should use to achieve that goal

The whole point of the TPP was a free trade zone *specifically excluding* China.
