You gave indigenous people autonomy and got mad when they used it to build apartment buildings? What did you think landback meant? Vibes? Papers? Essays?

A tweet that reads “Watching the BC leaders debate. @Dave_Eby says we should look at the great things First Nations are doing at the south end of the Burrard St Bridge. Well, I see it almost every day and as an architect said to me today, it's their way of saying "it's payback time". It's awful.”

Wait, all those land acknowledgements my Canadian colleagues make actually have action tied to them?

Also neither here nor there but whoever told architects that their aesthetic judgments were in any way more valuable than any random schmuck on the street has a lot to answer for.

Those...aren't ugly. They're interesting, and I like that everyone gets a balcony. The angles mean more residents get better views. As an architect, he knows better.

I have seen a LOT worse buildings on the Vancouver waterfront, utterly featureless concrete and glass rectangular solids pressed close together. I don't claim to be an architecture critic, but at least these aren't that.

I think it looks badass. I appreciate the modern style with natural and livable elements, and that the design features will also limit bird strikes
