Those...aren't ugly. They're interesting, and I like that everyone gets a balcony. The angles mean more residents get better views. As an architect, he knows better.
I have seen a LOT worse buildings on the Vancouver waterfront, utterly featureless concrete and glass rectangular solids pressed close together. I don't claim to be an architecture critic, but at least these aren't that.
