Uh I’ve actually known a couple dudes who did this while they were serving time and they said it’s considered a great gig. You get out of the walls and out doing shit in nature. The real bullshit is that they can’t get a job firefighting afterward because of the felony convictions.

It’s a “great gig” compared to other places you could be doing prison time. Better than solitary confinement in a windowless box without climate control is a really low bar to clear.
