I genuinely wonder if establishment journalists are all suffering from psychotic delusions? They keep saying JD Vance was civil and substantive last night while he denied the 2020 election and repeating blood libel against Haitians? They treat this like a game. I feel like I’m in upside down land.

I think it's an optical illusion caused by contrast with the presidential candidate being angry and incoherent at a level never tolerated in history for anyone in any job, so when Vance said bad things at a normal volume and with the form of sentences he absolutely wowed certain judges or spectators

There are some people for whom "civil" has a meaning that is entirely about tone of voice and demeanour and has nothing to do with the words that were actually said (or, if words matter, it just means there was no cussing). This is idiotic of course 😀 but I think that's what's going on here

That's what the lack of accountability in the journalism profession and news industry gets us

Like too many of their UK counterparts, they suffer from belonging to the same group class wise, and the evil people are nice to them personally.

Like, they seem to think this is a game where you score points until the buzzer runs out, or a roguelike where the whole country loses progress and has to restart with each failed run (Republican president). There’s no sense of reality, that lives are at stake. It’s profoundly disorienting.
