I would suspect the cross-tabs would indicate education level is probably a major factor too. Looking at the underlying data, this appears to have some legs, but with FAR more work needed (half are "unknown" for education. www.start.umd.edu/profiles-ind...
Unfortunately I agree with the conclusion in the excerpt. We are, as a group more dangerous than the average civilian, with a high chance of PTSD that has not been properly addressed by either the military or the veteran themselves. Radicalization is a potential problem if PTSD not counseled.
Timothy McVeigh is exhibit A in that theory way back in '95.

I only had time to skim the article, but I wonder if 'history of domestic violence' was a factor they tracked. I'd wager every one of these guys would abuse a partner if they were in a relationship.
Would be interested what percentage were combat veterans and a break down what occupational specialties.
