I think I agree. I'm mostly confused by the argument that somehow people on Bluesky were missing information. My impression was that people simply had strong opinions based on the same info everyone else had.

This exactly. We definitely weren’t misinformed, we simply came to much different conclusions based on our priors. This is a predominantly leftist space, which comes with the usual blind spots. As much as we try to see things objectively, it’s tough to eliminate bias in a group this size.

There was a sincere difference of opinion on whether/how many of the “Biden must drop out” folks were saying it in good faith (and would fall in behind a replacement) vs how many would just find some way to attack the heir. There was really no way to know till it happened.

I will agree that the problem was more about attitude towards new info than about being completely unaware of it.

yeah, while I would like to have more breaking news reporters here (we are screwed if we ever lose you and your heroic efforts to bring that over!) ultimately that was all getting written up in the Times/Post and both sites were reacting to the same stuff
