For the second day in a row, schools in Springfield, Ohio, are being evacuated because of apparent threats fueled by Trump and Vance's high-profile racist fear-mongering. The school district evacuated two elementary schools and closed one middle school.

And for the second day in a row, the New York Times and the Washington Post pretty much ignore the stochastic terrorism that JD Vance and Donald Trump are waging on that town. Abysmal journalism.
Trump got one thing right. Springfield used to be a nice town, and now it isn't. Of course the problem isn't immigrants. The problem is prominent racists using the town and the people who live there to try to scare other racists into voting for them.
All of this to score cheap points, and terrorize people from the poorest country in the Americas, who are in Ohio doing the work no one else wants.

There needs to be an investigation into who started these dog-whistling rumors. Then that person responsible for starting those dog-whistling rumors should be required to reimburse the Springfield (OH) School District for whatever damage their dog-whistling rumors have caused.
Unfortunately, many people won't blame Trump and his ilk for this, they'll blame the Haitian immigrants. "This wouldn't be happening if they'd just stayed where they belong."
