Letcher County, KY, sheriff Mickey Stines—charged with murdering local judge Kevin Mullins—resigned his office today, five days after Gov. Andy Beshear demanded it
"Resigned" sounds better, but that letter says "retirement." IE, yay, he gets to start collecting (and if he's smart, squirreling away somewhere offshore) his pension.
Odd that the resignation letter is not dated.
they ran him out of office way faster than the racist sheriff in oklahoma who was caught on tape conspiring to hire a hitman to murder a local journalist and who is still in office more than a year later
Here's video of today's preliminary hearing in the case of the Kentucky county sheriff charged with murdering a local judge in his chambers. It includes (upsetting) video of the shooting itself at 24:00.

Have you seen anything about a motive yet?
I'm noticing he hired a husband/wife attorney team.
I'm surprised there is no mechanism for firing a sheriff who commits murder.
If this was — as the letter indicates — a retirement, not a resignation, does that guarantee him a pension?
