How to establish an equitable, open access publishing model for psychotherapy research.
Full-Day workshop with Mila Hall, Christoph Flückiger, and Rocío Manubens. The topic of open access publications has been around for a bit more than 20 years, including relevant options for psychotherapy researchers. Although access to research results is generally deemed crucial for promoting evidence-based practice and encouraging research-practice exchange, open access publishing models remain hotly debated. In this full-day workshop, we aim to introduce the audience to pertinent issues in scientific publishing, particularly focusing on those involved in making research accessible. Though accessibility issues can refer to a variety of topics (such as public reach, comprehensibility, topics related to disability justice), we will restrict ourselves for the day to accessibility as being “able to be retrieved without barriers”.
