I once had a new CTO complain that we should be using RDS instead of managing MariaDB ourselves. When I ran the numbers, it would have put us out of business. 😅

Like when I ran some testing to migrate from Azure to AWS, and when you factored in the Windows Server licenses, which MSFT offers through Hybrid Benefit. Suffice to say we would not be saving any money at all.
