the generational shaming of gen z as being "lazy" only gets more ridiculous as time goes on because me clocking out at or before 5 should be completely normal compared to my boss still emailing me at 7pm. i ain't checking that shit! enjoy your evening! none of this is urgent!
qUiEt qUiTtInG aka setting boundaries and not working for free
You should set up one of those out of office auto responses that says just “off the clock! Hope it isn’t urgent! ❤️🥰” (mostly kidding of course lol)
Solidarity from the former lazy generation of millennials. They also blamed our lack of purchasing houses on avocado toast
"The Man" as my generation used to reference, will work you into the ground (especially in a salaried position - Been there, done that) and tell you that it's for YOUR benefit. When really it's for THEIRS. Glad I'm retired and greatful fory 2 Gen-Z daughters that will stand up for what's right 👍
im not gen z but i had a boss get mad at me for leaving exactly at 4:20 (my bus left at 4:28 or whatever and work normally ended at 4:30) every day and not staying for longer, but he was the one who lets me go 10 min early anyways so i dont have to wait an hour for the next bus??? pick one man!
i pull 8+ hour shifts as a supervisor for a fast food job and i get called out for not responding to group messages outside of work 😭 like damn
People should be lazier in general
Gen Z is very Europe-coded.
Right? Imagine bragging that you need 60 hours each week to do a 40-hour/week job. That's not work ethic, it's a skill issue.
They've been calling gen z lazy since the oldest of our generation was in middle school because we weren't participating enough in the workforce.
