Trump’s Supreme Court justices killed Roe v. Wade in the summer of 2022 and thought our anger wouldn’t last for 2 years until the presidential election. We would forget about it, get over it. — Well, they completely forgot that the nature of our bodies reminds us every 4 weeks.
I remember calling out of work sick the day after because of despair (lived in PR at the time so I had no vote…felt totally powerless)

and millions Puerto Ricans had to leave after the storms, many to Florida, where they are now facing this horror again. Including my sister and several close friends. I am so scared.
Hurricane Maria should have been that turning point. John Morales and other meteorologists wept then too. Recovery efforts were delayed by the administration, 5000 people died and millions w/o power for over a year. Recovery is still embarrassingly slow. But out of sight and out of mind for the US.
