Yesterday, Elon Musk joined Donald Trump on stage at a political rally in Butler, PA. He's the world's richest man and owns one of the most important communications forums in America. How might he use it to influence the 2024 election? What if any guardrails exist? Dean Jackson and I explore:
The limits and ability of social media companies to influence the outcome of elections.
oh well if it's one thing we know about Musk, he's sure to respect legal -and- ethical limits
As the head of a SuperPAC, isn't it at least nominally illegal for Musk to be coordinating so directly with the candidate's campaign that he is appearing onstage beside him?
“How might he use it to influence the election”?? Well, hey, let’s see: Provide an amplifier to endless right-wing conspiracy theories. Promote Trump and denigrate Harris incessantly, on an account he forces on all his users. Repost things from equally bananas people. Etc. Is that a serious Q?
Where are the boundaries ? Seriously? These two are bullies. Bullies are only stopped by force. And they have no boundaries, except the cowardice and the pearl-clutching of those, who are supposed to enforce those boundaries. Those are the boundaries.
guardrails lol
Its why I quit Twitter and closed my account. I will not feed that devil.
