I actually really liked this column! It think it illustrates the fact that people are sick of the Thunderdome monkey knifefight of 'the digital town square' and are looking for places that aren't horror. The trade-off is that it's a bit homodox. It's a good nudge to diversify a bit.

I will accept this argument only from people who do not deflect away the nature of their heterodoxy. No one here objects to having different opinions per se, it's using the guise of open discourse in bad faith to trade in bad ideas that rankles. We're not stupid, we know what this is.
I'm also not sure "look at all these bad tweets I found from this columnist: she must be bullied away" (which seems to be a common thread in her replies) is doing much to counter the idea that we're in a bit of a bubble.
The column is bad for myriad reason, but the main issue is: nowhere does she explain *which* views are absent from bluesky that should be present. And that’s besides the fundamental misunderstanding of what “echo chamber” means
I would like to point out that Karl Popper's Paradox of Tolerance comes in to play. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox... In order to be able to have meaningful discussions where differing opinions are allowed, we do have to keep out the bad-faith actors. 1/3
Diversify how? What do you miss that this place doesn’t have? What topics specifically? What do you need to see here soooooo badly? Say what you want, and reap the rewards. Do it.
