Yes they are,& taxed if it goes over £ 12,570. It depends what other income & benefits they claim of course. State pension is NOT a benefit, but an entitlement , having been paid for throughout a working life. The triple-lock is supposed to, and does, increase pensions in real terms over time.

I get pension credit, a small amount, on the new pension - wasn't going to claim it, so I hope everyone applies. Also, keep a look out for extra support from councils - and get in there quick. Plus, the WFA doesn't pay for your entire energy bill, you still have to limit heating.
