100%. 90’s had it’s problems but boy was it fantastic to live in the time of good music, birth of (accessible) internet and IRC and just… the start of it all that I hold dear. That decade might’ve sucked woth fashion but boy… it was good
I knew it! But I didn’t want to be overly confident lest it’s about something really obscure and I make a fool out of myself
I genuinely think growing up in the 90's was a monkey paw curse. Things were going to the better so goddamn quickly that we probably went blind to the problems of the time. But also... We are going backwards SO quickly right now that the speed is blinding. It's frustrating.
Why does this remind me of Transport Tycoon Deluxe
It is weird innit. When we were young there were certain... facts of life. Things go forward, the wall fell in europe, resurgence of activist music took the world by storm, RATM, SOAD, etcetera, Finland got Nokia, USA was a fantastic place to visit. And now? I feel like tomorrow's always... worse.
You will always have a good chat with a music fan and you will always walk away with a new recommendation to a cool band, new or old and... that sorta stuff keeps me going. That's why I have a record store. Spread the music, spread good politics.
There was this fantastic short bit on last meal with Serj Tankian about record stores being curators of music that just stuck to me as a record store owner. It's fantastic to talk about music and people who are INTO music, especially metal and punk are the best liberal people there are...
Absolutely very cool suit heads, dang!
2) It's always the ones you least expect...
