He literally disbanded the pandemic response team that would have alerted us much sooner to COVID and potentially even stopped it from spreading. Sometimes I forget and think "well, it's not his fault there was a pandemic" except it quite literally was.

This was by far his most grotesque crime of all, and yet it's the one that'll never result in an indictment. No matter how many years pass it'll never make sense.
Don't forget the tests developed by WHO and Trump refused to buy them, he wanted them for free. He insisted we develop our own. Then the first big batch was defective and they had to start over. He made us go without tests for over a month when they were needed most.
The pandemic would have come anyways - he just made things far worse by dismantling the structures that were set deal with these events and underplaying just how deadly it was. It was a worldwide event though, no one could have outright stopped it.
sometimes i wonder exactly how bad mpox and the recent bird flu outbreaks could’ve gotten if trump was still in office. obvi there’s no way to prove a counterfactual like that, but i’m confident it would’ve played out *very* differently.
1) My general belief is that if Hillary had won, COVID would’ve been *significantly* less bad in the U.S. than it was, but also bad enough that Democrats would’ve been absolutely wiped in 2020. 1/x
