I don’t think it’s a dumb question! I agree that folks would still be doing braids as a craft, but because not just anyone can do braids, and you do have to go back to the salon to get them redone on a regular basis, it seems like you’d need an on any ship/station solution in a post burn society

That’s why I think there must be some replicator/hologram situation going on for the braids - before the discovery got back, burnham was mostly on that space station or rationing out dilithium while she tried to figure out what happened to the federation
